The East London Airport is looking at having an on-site clinic that will accommodate both the staff and the passengers; this is part of the company’s provision occupational health.
Such services will be useful in the airport and seeing that it is one of the few airports in South Africa that do not apply such services. Currently, the airport has only a sick room available for the staff of the Airport.
Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has identified the need for this clinic to coordinate for all employees and passengers that need medical services.
ACSA, however, has not confirmed when the clinic will be opened but it mentioned that it still has to follow certain procedures in order for it to become operational.
Once the clinic is up and running, one nurse and an occupational medical practitioner will visit the facility once a week.
