The Employment Relations Forum Committee (ERF) serves as the body dealing with all Labour Relations and HRM issues as well as focusing on the Siyakhana HIV/AIDS project. The ERF Committee has recently re-invented itself with the aim of enhancing the focus of specific disciplines, by way of forming portfolios within the ERF committee, within the field of Human Resources Management.
Chairperson - Melanie van Vreden, Abantu Staffing Solutions
The ERF committee comprises of a dedicated team of HR managers, training specialists, skills and development specialists and labour law consultants. Our projects for 201f were publishing our second CSI booklet, the main focus of this book is to have a database of audited NGOs within the Border-Kei area. This booklet can be used by business to research and spend their CSI budget within the Eastern Cape and uplift excellent programmes within our immediate communities.
Our second project is Business Hub @ The Hub - A coffee and muffin training session running from 07h30 – 09h00. These sessions add value to chamber members with excellent training “snips” for a small fee. It adds value to all members and is aimed at both the business owner and its employees. Many companies have used these as team building mornings and have been very successful. We have an excellent programme lined up for Business Hub at the Hub for the rest of 2015!
The committee continues to keep all Chamber members updated with the latest labour updates, skills and development updates, training trends and labour disputes. ERF committee members represent the Chamber and private business at many forums and platforms and providing the Voice of Business.
