Traffic advisory – Roadworks on the R75 between Port Elizabeth and Despatch 21-24 January

Port Elizabeth, 21 January 2019: The South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) would like to notify travellers that roadworks is scheduled to take place on the R75 between Port Elizabeth and Despatch from today, Monday, 21 January 2019 to Thursday, 24 January 2019.

The planned traffic accommodation is as follows:

• The left lane between St. Leonards Road and Spondo Road will be closed for 1km during the day and reopened during peak hours when travelling from Port Elizabeth towards Despatch.

• The left lane between Spondo Road and Johnson Road will be closed for 300m when travelling from Port Elizabeth towards Despatch during the day and reopened during peak hours.

• The right lane between Johnson Road and Chelsea Road will be closed for 400m when travelling from Port Elizabeth towards Despatch during the day and reopened during peak hours.

• The right lane will be closed for 200m after Mission Arterial Road, when travelling from Port Elizabeth towards Despatch during the day and reopened during peak hours.

• The right lane between Mission Arterial and Ralo Road will be closed for 1km, when travelling from Despatch towards Port Elizabeth during the day and reopened during peak hours.

• The left lane between Ralo Road and Chelsea Road will be closed for 100m during the day and reopened during peak hours when travelling from Despatch towards Port Elizabeth.

• The right lane between Chelsea Road and Johnson Road will be closed for 100m during the day and reopened during peak hours when travelling from Despatch towards Port Elizabeth.

• The left lane between Johnson Road and Spondo Road will be closed for 100m during the day and reopened during peak hours when travelling from Despatch towards Port Elizabeth.

• The right lane between Johnson Road and Spondo Road will be closed for 350m during the day and reopened during peak hours when travelling from Despatch towards Port Elizabeth.

• Roadworks are expected to take place at the following intersections: Spondo Road and the R75, Johnson Road and the R75, Chelsea Road and the R75, Ralo Road and the R75.

“Motorists are asked to plan their trips accordingly, consider alternative routes and to use caution when making use of the road,” said Mbulelo Peterson, SANRAL Southern Region’s Manager.

Traffic advisory | Controlled blasting on the R72 between Birah River and Openshaw Village – 17 January

Eastern Cape, 15 January 2019: The South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) would like to notify travellers that controlled blasting is scheduled to take place on the R72 from Section 3 to Section 4, between Birah River and Openshaw Village, on Thursday, 17 January 2019 from 3pm until 5pm, weather permitting.

The road will be closed between and Gcinisa and Hamburg turn off.

“Motorists are asked to use caution when making use of the road,” Mbulelo Peterson, SANRAL Southern Region Manager said.

The planned traffic accommodation is as follows:

  • The left lane between Chase Drive and Dyke Road will be closed for 650m during the day and reopened during peak hours when travelling from Port Elizabeth towards Despatch.

 

  • The left lane, 1.3km before Mission Arterial Road, will be closed for 300m during the day and reopened during peak hours when travelling from Despatch towards Port Elizabeth.

 

  • The left lane between Johnson Road and Spondo Road will be closed for 100m during the day and reopened during peak hours when travelling from Despatch towards Port Elizabeth.

 

  • The left lane between Dyke Road and Chase Drive will be closed for 650m during the day and reopened during peak hours when travelling from Despatch towards Port Elizabeth.
