We’ve all been there; you show up to an event, trade business cards with a roomful of strangers, stay the obligatory hour and a half, and then promptly find the nearest exit having made no meaningful connection.

The next morning you send vague emails telling these strangers, the majority of whom have you scarcely remember, how delightful it was to have met them and that you should do something, sometime in the future- which, of course, never happens.

WE’VE ALL BEEN THERE AT ONE POINT. BUT YOU DONT HAVE TO STAY THERE – BKCOB Speed Networking at Windsor Cabanas, Kat Leisure, on Wednesday, 09 May 2018.

The Chamber’s first ever Speed Networking event saw 30 professionals from Border-Kei’s foremost companies and recruitment agents assemble at the Legends Showcase in Berea earlier this year.

Often described as speed dating, but for professionals, speed networking is an extension of the speed dating model of facilitating a meaningful meeting of multiple individuals within a short amount time.

Various methods can be used to structure speed network events, but one characteristic they all share is each participant is allotted a period of time – most times dependant on the size of the group – to introduce themselves and meet every prospect in attendance.

Fast-paced, the speed networking format’s time restrictions allow participants to straightaway dive into what they’re all about, bypassing the oftentimes cumbersome pleasantries.
