The Buffalo City Metro hosted the Brazil Russia India China South Africa (BRICS) Forum, yesterday the 04th of April in East London. The BRICS will be spending five days in the BCM with the aim of attending local and governmental forums in the city.

Yesterday, the premier’s office hosted a breakfast to engage on the readiness and opportunities available in the country and the city for an international event that looks at boosting the economy.
BCM mayor, Xola Pakati, mentioned that the BCM will grab the opportunity with both hands as it has presented itself.

“We had jumped at the opportunity to host the event when we visited China last year in the conference”, said Pakati.
The mayor added that the province is fully capable of hosting the event, after receiving an enormous support from the Cogta.

In September the annual BRICS leader’s summit will be hosted in Johannesburg, South Africa as a follow-up on the event hosted by the BCM.
